How our snow clearance works
Snow in Northern Ireland is rarer than frost, but when it arrives it can shut a site for days. Snow clearance customers have crews and equipment reserved for them. As soon as snow is forecast, your site is pre-treated so snow doesn't bond to the surface, then cleared and re-gritted as it falls.
Clearance priorities are agreed during your site survey, for example emergency routes first, then entrances, accessible bays, main aisles and finally overflow parking.
What's included
- Pre-treatment before snowfall
- Ploughing of car parks and estate roads
- Hand clearance of footpaths, steps and entrances
- Re-gritting after clearance to stop refreezing
- Snow piled away from drains, exits and sight lines
- Photo reports for every visit
Standby or included
Snow clearance can be added to a Precautionary contract as a standby retainer, and it's included in our Premium 24/7 plan. Pay-as-you-go customers can request clearance, subject to availability during a snow event.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly can you clear snow?
Contract and standby customers are prioritised and cleared in the order agreed in their plan. Premium 24/7 customers get a 2-hour priority response.
Where does the cleared snow go?
We agree pile locations at the survey, away from drains, fire exits, disabled bays and sight lines at junctions.
Do you also grit after clearing?
Yes. Cleared surfaces are re-gritted straight away, because meltwater refreezes quickly overnight.
